Overview

  • Client in Melville, NY seeks a Senior IT Systems Architect (Architect, Systems CSA), responsible for defining technical standards and design specifications within a specialized technical domain.
  • Collaborates with both U.S. and Japanese teams to consolidate requirements and develop systems.
  • Offers innovative solutions to challenges and contributes to policy and procedure development.
  • Possesses extensive expertise in the functional area, operates independently, and engages with peer-level colleagues across Canon.
  • May provide input on establishing annual objectives for the department.
  • This is a full-time role with a hybrid work schedule requiring presence in the office on Mondays and Wednesdays, with the option to work remotely the rest of the week (unless business needs dictate otherwise).

Job responsibilities

  • As part of the IT division, the operations team carries out various tasks: Management, System monitoring, Handling inquiries, System operation, Environment management, Resolving defects, Implementing enhancements, Configuration management.
  • In case of system failure, you'll be notified by the operator, analyze system impact, and take immediate provisional action. If necessary, you'll coordinate permanent solutions with the development team.
  • Infrastructure failures are handled by another team, but you'll collaborate with them to resolve issues.
  • For enhancements, you'll liaise with users, draft specifications, and provide instructions to the development team.
  • The operations team cooperates with the Japanese offshore team, responsible for nightly operations on weekdays.
  • Responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, managing, and utilizing information systems to support the organization's enterprise infrastructure effectively.
  • Analyze system requirements and translate business needs into technical requirements for one or more functional areas within the ERP system.
  • Define system architecture, including server infrastructure, capacity planning, storage requirements, and networking protocols.
  • Ensure that architecture projects meet security standards and seamlessly integrate with existing applications.
  • Handle complex technical and business issues.
  • Educate others on ERP modules' workflow, business processes, and reporting metrics.

Key Requirements

These are the minimum requirements a candidate needs to fulfill to be evaluated for this position.

  • Bachelor's degree in a pertinent field or equivalent experience needed, along with 7 years of relevant experience
  • Prior experience in sales management
  • Familiarity with financial or accounting practices is advantageous
  • Proficiency in Oracle databases (11g/12g/19c) with practical expertise in SQL and PL/SQL
  • Understanding of Linux systems and proficiency in Shell scripting
  • Competence in Autosys Job Schedulers
  • Hands-on familiarity with Java, JSP, and J2EE
  • Knowledge of IBM Integration Bus is beneficial
  • Execution and management of Sales Management Systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese are essential
